All Roads Lead to Kiawah as the PGA Kicks Off the 2012 Season!
PGA tour professionals have a long road ahead of them as the 2012 competitive season officially kicked off earlier this month at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. The journey will lead golfers thousands of miles all over the country for the next eight months as they compete in more than 35 tournaments that will eventually lead them to the 2012 PGA Championship on Kiawah’s Ocean Course this August.

Carol Preisinger Named the LPGA Southeast Sectional President
Congratulations are in order to Carol Preisinger, the Kiawah Island Club’s Director of Golf Instruction! Preisinger, a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Master Professional, has been named the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Southeast Sectional President, a two-year term that oversees more than 300 LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals throughout the Southeast region.

Ocean Course Tweaked for 2012 PGA
In August 2012, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island will host the 94th PGA championship and will become only the fifth course to host each of The PGA of America’s major championships—the Ryder Cup (1991), the Senior PGA Championship (2007), and the PGA Championship (2012). In preparation for the upcoming tournament, PGA officials have requested a slight tweak to the closing hole of the course to ensure it is played as designer Pete Dye intended.
