Ultimate Golf Learning Experience
When you think of golf and Kiawah Island, your immediate mental image might be of Denis Watson sinking his final putt in a come-from-behind victory at the 2007 Senior PGA Championship at The Ocean Course. But though players who have devoted their lives and careers to perfecting their games are drawn to the beauty and challenge of Kiawah courses, beginners are too. The Island’s extensive array of golf learning and training resources are tailored for people just learning the game, those focused on re-learning and refining, and those intent on passing their golfing legacy on to the next generation.

TIP FROM THE PRO: Have A Blast With Bunker Shots! – Carol Preisinger, Director of Instruction
A bunker shot requires the hands and arms to create a “steep angle of attack” up and away from the ball, before the body swings through. A common error is to swing the wedge back on a shallow inside path, or swing back too far. Either way, the body is doing too much work on the backswing. To hit better bunker shots you must create an upright take-away and control the length of it, while staying balanced. Then you’ll have more energy to blast the sand by turning through with your body, on a more out-to-in path.
