Music and Movies at Freshfields Village
This summer at Freshfields Village is going to be packed with family-friendly events sure to get you out on the Island and soaking up the leisurely days of summer. Starting in June, Freshfields Village will host Starlight Cinema featuring a crowd pleasing and children appropriate movie on Wednesday nights. Each Friday, Music on the Green will get you singing and dancing with performances by top local bands. These events are complimentary, so grab a couple of chairs and blankets and bring the entire family to enjoy a night under that stars.

The Family Circle Cup
Each spring, the City of Charleston and Daniel Island serve up one of the most exciting events in women’s professional tennis. Fans turn out in droves to support this ace of a tournament with an average of more than 87,000 people attending each year. More than 50 players will compete for a piece of the $700,000 purse and battle on the court for one of the most coveted trophies in women’s tennis.

Spring Concert Series Finale
Friday, April 9 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Feshfields Village will wrap up its Spring Concert Series with a much-anticipated performance by Shrimp City Slim, known as the creator of Lowcountry Blues. Playing a combination of post-modern blues and various musical flavors heard on the Carolina coast, local songwriter and musician Gary Erwin and his band are creating original music that is earning them a reputation worldwide. The Shrimp City Slim band has shared the stage with BB King, Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy Rogers, Junior Wells, and many more. If you love blues and blues-based original songs, you won’t want to miss this special concert.
