An Evening with Darius Rucker to Benefit the MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund
Darius Rucker, a Charlestonian by birth and now a favorite international celebrity, will once again take on the tunes of the legendary Frank Sinatra in a one-night show at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Rucker, a long-time fan of "Ol' Blue Eyes," will perform with his Big Band the melodies and songs of Sinatra, paying tribute to the man himself and an era gone by. Following similar shows in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2012, this concert has become a classic and favorite event for all music lovers.

34th Annual Kiawah Marathon Breaks Course Records
More than 3,000 runners took to Kiawah’s streets on Saturday, December 10 at the 34th annual Kiawah Island Marathon and Half Marathon. For the first time ever, the Kiawah Island Golf Resort – the race’s host organization – offered $12,500 in prize money for first, second, and third place finishers of the full and half marathons. Winnings were also given to individuals who broke a Kiawah Course Record.

A very special event that merges art, dance, and music together into a vibrant and exciting artistic production will soon take place on Kiawah. "Scenic Views from Kiawah” on Friday, September 16th will delve into the creation of Off the Wall & Onto the Stage, a ballet production that takes the art of famed Lowcountry and Gullah artist Jonathan Green and brings it to life through the choreography of William Starrett and the music of Marlena Smalls.

Once again, Charleston has been named one of the best cities in North America by the readers of Travel & Leisure, one of the travel industry’s most respected publications. The magazine released its 2011 World’s Best reader survey results on NBC’s TODAY Show and with it, news that Charleston was ranked the second best city, coming in slightly behind New York City and just ahead of San Francisco.
