Gourmet & Grapes Weekend Coming to The Sanctuary May 4th – 6th
Local and national culinary visionaries, along with award-winning wineries, are combining their talents for a very special fundraising weekend on behalf of the Medical University of South Carolina’s (MUSC) Hollings Cancer Center. Gourmet & Grapes Weekend kicks off Friday night May 4th with a black tie dinner in The Ocean Room at The Sanctuary.

Calling All Connoisseurs! The Sanctuary to Host ‘Gourmet & Grapes’ Weekend
At the end of this month, the Sanctuary will open its doors and welcome celebrity chefs, food and wine connoisseurs, and more to the Island as the five-star hotel hosts its 3rd Annual Gourmet & Grapes weekend. Beginning on Friday, April 29 with a Pro Am Tournament on the Turtle Point golf course, the weekend will consist of a variety of unforgettable – not to mention tasty – events!

The Sanctuary now has another accolade under its belt as it has been named to Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Gold List of the best places in the world to stay. What an accomplishment!

The Sanctuary has once again been recognized as a 2011 Forbes Five-Star Lodging, the top award from the nation’s leading authority on travel and leisure, the Forbes Travel Guide (formerly Mobil). This is the fourth year that The Sanctuary has received this prestigious distinction since the resort opened in 2004.

Charleston and Kiawah Named to Travel + Leisure’s Prestigious List
Travel + Leisure recently named Charleston, SC the No. 3 city in US and Canada, and The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort was ranked the No. 17 resort. For the fifteenth year, readers of Travel + Leisure voted for the top hotels, destinations, airlines, cruises, outfitters, and transportation companies in the world to create the World’s Best ranking. The 2010 poll received a record number of votes.

The Sanctuary was recently honored with top awards from the nation’s leading authorities on travel and leisure—Five Stars by the Forbes Travel Guide (formerly Mobil) and Five Diamonds by AAA. This is the third year in a row that Forbes has named The Sanctuary to this prestigious list and the fourth time for AAA since The Sanctuary opened in 2004.

For the first time, the Mobil Travel Guide has bestowed the coveted Mobil Five Star Award upon The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The Sanctuary is one of only four new properties on the list of 41 North American and Mexican hotels, resorts, and inns that will hold the Five Star distinction for 2009.
