Kiawah Island Golf Resort Hosts National Pro Am
PGA club professionals and golfers from all across the U.S. recently teed it up during the Kiawah Island Golf Resort National Pro Am that began on February 28 and wrapped on March 4, 2010. The 72-hole, stroke-play event, sponsored by Club Car, was held on four of Kiawah Island Golf Resort's championship courses—Pete Dye’s world-famous Ocean Course, Jack Nicklaus’ Turtle Point, Gary Player’s Cougar Point, and Tom Fazio’s Osprey Point.

It had all the elements of an unforgettable day on the greens. The promise of scattered sun and just enough breeze, high-wattage names like Dan Marino, Bobby Cremins, Ken Burger, Kevin Higgins, Paul McGuire, and KIRE’s own sales executive, Jim Stuckey, in an inspiring setting on a beautiful barrier island golf course. Still, the organizers of the recent Celebrity Golf Invitational at the Kiawah Island Club’s River Course were “blown away” when sponsorships moved faster than a ball on a green that was contoured for bermuda then later planted with bentgrass.
