Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue
There’s no place more special to celebrate the spirit of the Fourth of July with friends, family, and neighbors than Kiawah Island. With activities planned for the entire family from teens and tweens to children and adults, this holiday weekend promises to be much more than a day at the beach. Whether you’re interested in an adults-only excursion on the water, teen dance night, or an evening of fireworks with all the traditional holiday fare, there’s something at Kiawah to ensure your Independence Day is a true celebration of the life you love.

Patriotic Parade
Patriots of all ages are encouraged to join in the parade on bikes, skates, roller blades, or by foot. Parade decorations will be available at 4:30 pm on Sea Forest Drive near the East Beach Village. The Kiawah Island Fire Department will lead the parade followed by Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross.
Independence Festival in the Park
This festival will kick off following the parade at Night Heron Park with many attractions for family and friends to enjoy! Beach music from the Headliners and family entertainer Rick Hubbard will provide entertainment for the evening. Festivities include: tie-dye, face painting, children’s train, carnival games, amusement rides, and much more! Food and beverage tickets will be on sale at Night Heron Park throughout the day and during the event. Food prices are $5-$15. No coolers please. Fireworks will be held on Night Heron Park’s soccer field at 9:15 pm.
Fireworks Celebration
Bring your family and friends to celebrate America’s independence on the scenic oceanfront terrace lawn at The Sanctuary. Indulge in gourmet food and classic cocktails while enjoying our all-American band. Children are encouraged to participate in the fun-filled activities that will be provided leading up to the fireworks on the beach at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $45 and reservations are required. Contact leisure services at 843.768.6253 for reservations.
Fireworks Adult Paddle
This once-a-year trip lets you enjoy the fireworks show by water in the peace of the salt marsh. Wind up the river as the sun sets and then sit back, relax, and let the show take over.
Teen Night: IndepenDANCE
There’s no better way to celebrate the holiday than to have a dance. Teens are invited to meet at the Night Heron Pool deck for a poolside dance party immediately following the Night Heron Park fireworks.
