Freshfields Village Welcomes New Italian Restaurant
How does wood-fired pizza, pasta topped with rich sauce, homemade desserts, and fresh baked bread sound? Soon, you won’t have to travel far to enjoy these traditional Italian favorites. Combining fresh ingredients to create delectable, made-from-scratch dishes, La Tela Pizzeria, Freshfields Village newest restaurant, is brining a taste of Italy to the Lowcountry.
La Tela is a Neapolitan style pizzeria that, in addition to pizza and pasta, serves gelato, Italian ice, wine, beer, and freshly ground espresso. The open kitchen lets you watch and learn while chefs mix, stir, and chop the finest ingredients to prepare fresh Italian food. The result is honest and simple cuisine made with natural ingredients that speak for themselves.
Family owned and operated, the Rinaldi family recipes have evolved from generation to generation beginning with Victoria Rinaldi of Pontelandolfo Italy in1917. “La Tela is an expression of who we are and our goal is to share with our customers our culinary artistry, family heritage, and friendship,” said Executive Chef Edward Rinaldi. The Rinaldi family has many years of experience in the restaurant business. Executive Chef Edward Rinaldi, second generation restaurateur, has owned and operated restaurants for more than 30 years, and Chef de Cuisine Frank Rinaldi, third generation restaurateur, is a BPS graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
Bring your family and stop by early-October to enjoy delicious Italian food in an inviting and casual atmosphere. La Tela is located across from the Green, just a few doors down from guest services and is open seven days a week, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Patio dining, dine-in, and take-out are available.
