It’s Official – Charleston, S.C. is #1

Charleston is no stranger to winning awards and accolades. For the past twenty years, the city has been known as one of the best tourist destinations in the country.

Now, Charleston’s nearly 350-year history has led to one of its proudest moments – being named the #1 Top City in the United States in the 2011 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards. But that’s not all. The city has also received the acknowledgement of being the #3 Top City in the World!

After coming in second for the last two years, and in the top ten the last 16, the ‘Holy City’ has finally triumphed, beating out San Francisco whom held the position 18 years! coming in first! The praise doesn't end there. Kiawah Island and the Kiawah Island Golf Resort have recently received multiple honors from various publications.
