Just in time for the summer months, one of the fashion industry’s great ‘resort-chic’ clothiers is opening a new store at Kiawah’s Freshfields Village. J.McLaughlin, known for its trademark playful yet traditional, classic American style will open its doors to Kiawah residents and guests soon, with a soft opening on the horizon in the coming days.

Founded by brothers Jay and Kevin McLaughlin, J.McLaughlin is still delivering what they have always promised – purebred, premium quality yet unpretentious casual sportswear for men and women. With this in mind, there’s no better place than Kiawah to fully embrace their vision. On Kiawah, both residents and visitors relish in the casual, resort lifestyle that has made the Island so popular for more than 20 years.
Located in friendly neighborhoods where shoppers can easily stroll, J.McLaughlin creates a distinctive architectural and interior style inspired by the store’s community. “We go where our customers work and play and almost immediately are on a first-name basis with them--whether it’s Palm Beach, Princeton, Bridgehampton, Millbrook or our newest boutiques on Cape Cod and Washington Depot, CT” explains President and CEO, Steven Siegler. “Don’t look for us in malls.”
J.McLaughlin’s Freshfields Village store is bursting with bright, vibrant colors and is reminiscent of Kiawah’s own coastal personality. The store will feature classic clothing and accessories for everyone –whether a boater or golfer, beach lover or someone ready to enjoy the slow pace of Lowcountry life, there’s something for everyone at J.McLaughlin.
