Kiawah Island Golf Resort Named One of the Best Golf Resorts in North America
The Kiawah Island Golf Resort was recently ranked #7 on Golf Digest’s list of “The 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America.”
Golf Digest called upon its 900-plus course rating panelists, who also produce the list of America’s 100 Greatest Courses, to rate hundreds of resort courses in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean on a scale of 1 (“awful”) to 10 (“perfect”). They averaged the ratings and multiplied the results by 10 to come up with a score. Kiawah’s score totaled 83.4, just a few points behind the #1 ranking Pebble Beach Resort whose score totaled 89.17.
To determine the rankings, the resorts were judged based on golf, lodging, food, and service. Golf Digest panelists caution readers to remember that each resort on the list has its own unique mix of these elements, emphasizing that the resort’s place on the list is not as important as the fact that it made the list.
