Kiawah Island Named #1 Reader’s Choice

Readers of Condé Nast Traveler recently named Kiawah Island the #1 island to visit in North America and the #1 resort in the mainland U.S. For the seventeenth consecutive year, Charleston was named a “Top 10” favorite city, earning the #2 spot just behind San Francisco.

In the past, a sample of Condé Nast readers was selected to take the survey. This year when the questionnaire was made available to all readers through a secure website, more than 25,000 readers responded. To determine the top honors, participants rated the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels and resorts worldwide on a number of criteria including activities, ambience, friendliness, and service.
