Ocean Palms Ownership Becomes More Streamlined
Some buyers devote many years to nurturing their visions for owning true masterpiece properties. They spend ages hunting down the perfect homesite, then months more choosing their architect and evaluating plans. By the time they select a builder and see the construction process through, their quest has begun to feel like a second career. Then there are those who want a home just as inspiring, but that allows them to pursue their many other interests. Ocean Palms has a new offering perfectly tailored to the latter group’s style.
In a nutshell, the creative team behind the exclusive new Oceans Palms enclave did much of the upfront work, so prospective buyers don’t have to. Three different architectural firms created ideal plans for four prime Ocean Palms’ homesites. By saving buyers the time and trouble of weighing the cost of the home vs. the cost of the lot and considering a myriad of other issues, they have taken months, maybe even years off the journey to a new home.
Red Charette Architects was charged with creating masterpiece plans for Ocean Palms Lots 3 and 4 for under $5 million, inclusive of home and land. They performed spectacularly, coming in with designs priced at $3,995,000 and $3,970,000, guided by the seasoned estimating skills of Ocean Palms builder Bennett Hofford Construction.

Stephen Herlong Architects focused on Lot 6, creating a wonderful custom design priced at $5,650,000. Not to be outdone, Christopher Rose Architects unveiled a 7,300 square-foot masterpiece tailored for Lot 7 for $8,890,000. A pool is included in the design and price of each home, and can be redesigned as a spa per owner preference. All homes also include pricing for landscaping, professionally designed to complement the site.
Each of the four pre-planned homes has features that make it unique. The home designed for Lot 3 boasts two master suites on separate floors, an outdoor kitchen, and views of internal private gardens. The plans created for Lot 4 incorporate a lovely great room, complete with fireplace, which opens onto a terrace with a pool or optional spa, a first floor master suite, also with a private terrace, and a three-car garage. Lot 6 offers both outdoor dining and living rooms, plus a first floor exercise and spa room, and generous covered porches on the second floor. The pièce de résistance on Lot 7 is two master suites, one opening onto a private loggia, as well as a second floor game room and living area and ground floor lanai with outdoor kitchen and bar, all on a second row oceanfront lot.

To express the developer’s vision for recreating the beauty and ambience of a Mediterranean seaside village, the homes nestle into the setting with Spanish roof tiles or copper materials, sandstone tile terraces, balconies, and loggias, true masonry cement stucco, and a host of other features that enhance their ageless architectural genre. Inside, cooling creature comforts abound, including stone floors and countertops, gourmet kitchens with commercial grade appliances by Wolf, Sub-Zero, GE, Bosch and DCS, Waupaca Estate Series hydraulic elevators, hurricane impact-rated windows and door packages add extra quality and practicality.
As the Island’s largest remaining undeveloped tract of true oceanfront property, and the only oceanfront gated community on Kiawah, Ocean Palms is unmatched for location, landscaping, and architectural excellence. Its ocean views, wonderful 300-foot water garden, and palm tree allée will define the heart of this extraordinary community. Built on land held in reserve for decades by Kiawah Island’s original first family, Ocean Palms is offered exclusively by Kiawah Island Real Estate. When the current Phase One and future Phase Two are complete, the community will encompass only 20 singlefamily homes in a semi-tropical canopy that stretches from Royal Beach to Osprey Beach.
