Sample Wines, Craft Beers, and Lowcountry Cuisine at Freshfields Village
On Sunday, September 4th wine connoisseurs, craft beer fans, and gastro enthusiasts will come together at Freshfields Village to delight their palettes at the Lowcountry Wine & Beer Festival.

Now in its fifth year, the Lowcountry Wine & Beer Festival will feature more than 20 wines from around the globe, local and regional craft beers, and delicious Lowcountry fare from Hege’s Restaurant on the Village Green from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
The atmosphere will be buzzing with activity as guests also enjoy the smooth tunes of the Cobblestone Quartet live jazz group.
Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of appealing items and trips, including an African safari, oceanfront vacation getaway, hunting expedition, and more at a silent auction. As with funds raised by the auction, proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Barrier Islands Medical Free Clinic, an organization that provides much needed, free medical care to those in need on Johns, James, and Wadmalaw islands.
Barrier Islands Medical Free Clinic primarily serves the working poor with a staff of 31 physicians, 31 nurses, and other volunteers. Since opening in April 2008, medical care has been provided to these communities through more than 11,000 patient visits. Freshfields Village, along with Kiawah Partners, is dedicated to assisting programs that impact neighboring communities. Last year’s festival and silent auction raised more than $40,000 for the clinic.
Tickets are $35 in advance at various ticket locations, or $40 at the gate. Junior tickets (age 10 to 20) are available for $20, and children under 10 are free.
