Southeastern Wildlife Exposition Comes to Charleston
Now in its 28th year, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) has grown to become the largest event of its kind in the nation, attracting more than 500 artists and exhibitors from around the globe and 40,000 attendees.

With artists, exhibitors, and sporting/outdoor activities and demonstrations, SEWE offers something for everyone in the family. Crowd favorites, including the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary Show, Dock Dogs, and Retriever Demonstrations are back again this year as is Jack Hanna, host of Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures and Into the Wild and frequent David Letterman show guest.
Painters, sculptors, photographers, and carvers will line the streets and buildings of downtown Charleston to share their work. Luke Frazier, SEWE’s featured artist, will display his paintings and photographs of animals in their natural environment created while traveling through Alaska, Canada, and the American West.
Exhibits representing everything from Boykin rescues to wildlife refuges and retriever clubs to magazines will be on hand to answer questions and hand out information about their organizations.
Advance tickets are available online, by phone (843.723.1748), at any Charleston Area Visitor Center (downtown, Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston), and the Kiawah Town Hall. General admission tickets for Friday or Saturday are $20, tickets for Sunday are $10, and a 3-day pass is $40.
