Spring, Summer, and Fall at the Sandcastle

The Sandcastle has many exciting events planned for the year. From Member Dinners and Educational Seminars to Art Fests and Dogtoberfest, there are many wonderful opportunities available for property owners to enjoy year-round.

Member Dinners
Member dinners take on a new life in 2010. On March 11, dinner at Hege's will kick off Annual Meeting weekend activities. The April 15 potluck dinner at the Sandcastle is sure to be a hit, and remember to schedule time to attend the Cinder Creek BBQ on May 7.

Kiawah Presents Our World
"Our World" for 2010 includes exciting new selections. From items of local interest, such as South Carolina's Civil War, to those of national interest, such as The Geopolitics of South America, to ones of human interest, such as The Power of Poetry, there is something for everyone. A light selection of wine and cheese will be provided at each event and members are encouraged to interact with speakers following each presentation.

Educational Opportunities
Each spring and fall the Sandcastle offers educational classes on a variety of topics. Opera Lite combines audio/visual presentations of operatic performances with historical and literary perspectives to provide an entertaining and informative view into the world of opera. Italian conversation holds regular sections for both beginner and esperto. Mah-Jongg classes introduce participants to the American version, with time dedicated for both lessons and actual play.

Summer Programs
Summer programs include twice-weekly Kids' Crafts, as well as periodic games and tournaments. Look for information on Memorial Day activities, Red, White and Blue Bash, and Labor Day weekend events!

Flu Shots
This October, Kiawah - Seabrook Medical and Urgent Care will offer flu shots at the Sandcastle Community Center.

Dogtoberfest Pet Expo
This fall, pets are invited to bring their people to the fourth annual Dogtoberfest! The event will include presentations on canine care and nutrition, a blessing of the animals, a pup costume contest and much more. There will also be games and a jump castle for kids.

Art Fests
This year the Sandcastle will host both spring and fall Arts Fest events. On April 1 and 2 talented local artists, crafters, and photographers will display their works for viewing and purchasing. In November, don't miss the three-day fall Arts Fest, which kicks off on Nov. 12 with a wine and cheese reception.

The Sandcastle also offers an array of fitness activities, educational classes, and informational seminars. More information on events can be found at http://www.KICA.us or by contacting the Sandcastle at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 843-768-3875.
