The Great Irish Links Challenge Comes to Doonbeg

This May, a limited number of lucky golfers will participate in the inaugural ‘Great Irish Links Challenge’, a tournament that jumps the course, literally, as participants will make their way around the west coast of Ireland and jump, course-to-course, between the award-winning Ballybunion, Lahinch, and Kiawah Partners’ very own, Doonbeg Golf Club.

Golf World recently acknowledged the three golf courses as being in the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses. In recognition of this, Ballybunion, Lahinch, and Doonbeg have partnered together to offer golfers the unbelievable opportunity to play all three in a four-day period. “We were all delighted to see nine Irish links courses featured,” said Joe Russell, Doonbeg General Manager. “Obviously with the three of us being so close together there is an excellent opportunity to cross-promote.”
And the folks at Ballybunion agreed. “While overseas golfers may not be in Ireland in the abundance in which they once were, there is still a real desire to play the Irish links courses,” said Vari McGreevey, the General Manager of Ballybunion. “This event gives them the opportunity to play three of the best around in a memorable way.”
Playing host to many of the tournament’s special events, Doonbeg Golf Club is looking forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to enjoy five-star accommodations at The Lodge, as well as the famed Irish hospitality. For more information about The Lodge, click here.
The Great Irish Links Challenge will take place Sunday, May 22 through Wednesday, May 25. Registration is still open though only six hundred golfers will be allowed to compete in the tournament. Make your arrangements now to take part in this unprecedented occasion to play these legendary links courses of the Emerald Isle.
