Volunteers Needed For 2009 U.S. Mid-Am Championship
Conducted by the United States Golf Association, the Kiawah Island Club will host the 29th U.S. Mid-Amateur Golf Championship from October 1 – 8, 2009.
Over 80 volunteers are still needed to help with the various tournament positions, most notably forecaddies and greenside scoring reporters. Forecaddies (needed Oct. 1 – 8) are stationed at landing zones to help spot errant balls and also assist as evacuation drivers, if needed. Greenside scoring reporters (needed Oct. 3 – 4) collect scores from players and enter them into hand-held electronic scoring devices during stroke play.
There will be two shifts per day, approximately 4.5 hours each. Each volunteer is requested to work a total of four shifts (if needed) during the tournament. All volunteers who work 18 hours will receive a volunteer uniform, consisting of two shirts, a hat or visor, and a wind shirt. In addition to the uniform, volunteers will receive a free day of golf (on a designated date and time) at one of the club’s two golf courses.
